About Us

Because there isn't enough dirt about us on the Internet already.

Boo

BooMy brother-in-law found Boo running in Salt Lake traffic during rush hour on a hot day in July 1998. Brian and I decided to take him with us to Washington state and he's been a faithful companion ever since. He's been across the country with us multiple times via car and airplane. As he was a stray, we're not sure his breed but I would guess staff, bulldog, pig, and a little gargoyle without the wings.

Izzy

IzzyIzzy came to us by way of the Brooklyn Pound in August 2002. All I know is that she was picked up as a stray in Queens and was terribly neurotic. She peed everywhere the minute she came into the play room at the pound to meet us, and we just knew she was the dog for us.

Izzy is simply an uber-terrier or a white ball of pure energy. Since we've had her, she's slowly figured out the whole house training thing but hasn't quite figured out that we can't play fetch 24-7, although she has gotten us going to agility classes lately.

Amos

amos.jpgAmos is a strange little dog. He spent the first three years of his life living in deplorable conditions without any interaction with people. We adopted him from a rescue group in August 2006. At the time, we couldn't touch him, walk him on a leash, or get within three feet of him. It's been a slow process, but he's made a lot of steady progress. He recently even graduated from a beginning obedience class.

Pandora

681963_1197666483.jpgPandora is our most recent addition. She walked up to me while I was riding my bike home from work one night, and she was drop dead gorgeous. I picked her up, and she was sweet too. See where this is going... Brian fell in love with her too. After a bit of asking around, it became clear that she was a neighborhood stray who had been displaced by a construction project on the other side of our block. Now she lounges in a guest bedroom and tries to tolerate the dogs.

Jen

Jen and her Tongue

My name is Jen, and I'm responsible for this site. When not wasting my time developing an online identity for my dogs, I am trying to cope with life in Salt Lake working as an instructional designer. Only a few short years ago I was unemployed and living in Brooklyn. Prior to that was grad school in Boston, temping in Seattle, a liberal college education in Washington state, childhood in Minnesota, and birth in Chicago.

I was raised by a pack of wild wolves. Just kidding, I was raised by Lois and Hal, although they did raise me in a barn which explains a lot. I have 3.5 siblings or 7 half-siblings. It's a lot however you slice it. All but one of them are sisters, and I tend to refer to them all simply as 'my sister' until people ask how my sister manages to do so much. Then I have to try to explain the whole confusing sister situation. It's all worth it though because they've produced some damn cute kids that I get to play with.
