News Sleuths: Kids
News Sleuths

Welcome Kids!

Are you ready to become detectives? Then put on your thinking caps because you have a special mission ahead of you!

Every day you hear bits and pieces of news on tv, radio, or in newspapers and magazines. But have you ever heard a story that just didn't seem right to you? Have you ever had a personal reaction to something you read or heard about in the news? Or maybe you've wondered why certain things were left out of a story.

Just like real investigators, you'll learn how to gather information and look for special clues. But instead of studying crimes and violations of the law, you'll learn how to find clues right in the pages of newspapers and magazines that help explain the choices reporters and writers make every day. What are some of the ways reporters and editors share information with readers? Are there better choices the writers could have made? Remember, things aren't always the way they appear!
