While this site was mainly designed to enhance the Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum in upper elementary and middle school classrooms, the lessons and activities can also be reinforced with the guidance of a parent at home. The lessons and activities you will find on the site encourage students to look at bias and analyze credibility in print news. Lesson plans and handouts for classroom-use accompany the web-based content. These printable handouts can be used to practice critical reading skills at home. You can use these handouts along with the newspapers and magazines that you might find around your house or you can refer to the resources page to gather additional resources. Your children will appreciate the extra time they get to spend with you while practicing these meaningful skills!
