I actually working in the "Story of Stuff" and the documentary Maxed Out to teach my 10th graders as we looked at the fall of the Roman Empire with Julius Caesar....they think these people were so far away in history, and that as time passes people get smarter, but you know what, I see them doing the exact same things we do today...and where did it get them. This idea of American debt is going to make it easier for other countries to buy up valuable stocks and then own many American companies and then American power won't be so localized...it will be an interesting twist in our world's future. I wish everyone didn't think Obama was going to cure this for all Americans. I wish that people weren't going to take their tax returns and buy big screen tvs, I wish that people figured out that the President can't fix their spending problems.
